What we feed our minds is easily as important as what we feed our bodies.

In Yogyakarta, a street vendor makes gadogado, that wonderful peanutty, Indonesian salad, from her cart on the corner of my alleyway. There is only one bench where locals gather to eat, so I ask for mine as bungkus, takeaway, served on a banana leaf and wrapped in brown paper.
The cart where she prepares and sells her food every day is called a kaki lima. That means five feet. The cart has three wheels, one on each side and one at the front. The vendor provides the other two feet. It's interdependence - each is better for being alongside the other.
The cart has purpose, the vendor has passion. It's a combination worth revisiting.
